Palatte Knife paintings

Every oil painters use a Palatte(knife) to make color and clean the palette. Sometimes, you also use a Palatte to put a large block of paints on the canvas. Nobody know when "a Palatte knife" painting became a kind of style of oil painting. At leaset we can't find a Palatte knife style painting in ancient paintings.

But, Palatte knife can make some unique paintings, it gives you a rough, but artistic feeling about the painting. Nowdays, you can find various of Palattes from the art suppliers, long, soft, short and hard, round headed and sharp knife. Some good painter like slim and soft headed Palattes, they are elastic and flexible.
