I just discovered Mr. Spitzweg at an estate sale. Purchased one of his oils, the Bookworm, and decided to find out more about him because I liked his use of light, his subject matter and his warmth. After getting through these examples of his work, I do so love his style and look forward to bumping into another canvas soon!
